PONTIAC -- Gerald K. Huling, 78, of Pontiac, died at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 13, 2005) at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. Phillip Icenogle of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyslope Cemetery, Saunemin, where full military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Gerald was born Nov. 16, 1927, at Francisville, Ind., a son of Howard and Della (Bricker) Huling. He married Nada Jan Davis on April 5, 1964, at Saunemin. She survives in Pontiac.

Also surviving are three daughters, Teresa (Matt) Barlow and Randi (Randy) Johnson, both of Pontiac, and Jodi (Bob) Bybee, Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Justin and Tristin Barlow, Stefanie, Abby and Brandon Johnson, all of Pontiac; and Peyton and Regan Bybee, both of Gilbert, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He was educated in Saunemin schools and was employed at Pontiac Township High School for more than 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1950 to 1953, during the Korean War.

He was also a carpenter for several years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pontiac.
