NORMAL -- Hubert Wade Taylor, 90, of Normal, formerly of LeRoy, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday (Dec. 12, 2005) at Heritage Manor, Normal.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 101 W. Center St., LeRoy, with the Rev. Tim Vollstedt officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Military honors will be provided at the graveside. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to BroMenn Hospice, Normal, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

He was born June 11, 1915, in Griffin, Ind., the son of Lawrence W. and Essie Beck Taylor. He was raised in Butler County, Ky. He married Florence T. Hardesty on Oct. 31, 1947, in East St. Louis. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2004.

He is survived by one daughter, Donna (Jim) Millner, Tavares, Fla.; and two sons, Thomas (Sandy) Taylor, Richmond, Texas, and Doug Taylor, Normal.

Other survivors include four grandchildren, Linda, Kerry, Dale and Scott, all of Florida; and five great-grandchildren, Nichole, Brittany, Dana, DJ and Rachel, all of Florida. He is also survived by one sister, Pauline Vance, LeRoy.

He was preceded in death by one sister; his parents; and two brothers.

Hubert worked at Eureka-Williams in Bloomington, then started T&P Sheetmetal Co. in Bloomington. He then became a State of Illinois employee and worked as a conservation officer in McLean County for more than 20 years before retiring.

He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the Pacific Theater. He was an active member of the Ruel Neal American Legion Post 79, LeRoy. He was also a member of the Illinois Police Association (IPA).
