Central Catholic boys seeded third in Class A

The Central Catholic High School boys basketball team is seeded third in the Class A division of the 27th annual State Farm Holiday Classic Classic, which announced its pairings Wednesday night.

The 64-team Classic, the nation's largest holiday tournament, begins its four-day run at various Bloomington-Normal sites Dec. 27.

The top seeds are Chillicothe Illinois Valley Central (A boys), South Holland Thornwood (AA boys), Chicago John Hope (A girls) and Bolingbrook (AA girls).

Other area seeds in the Class A boys division are No. 4 Hartsburg-Emden, No. 6 CPCI, No. 8 University High, No. 10 Mount Pulaski, No. 13 Olympia and No. 16 El Paso-Gridley.

Normal Community is seeded 10th in the AA boys division.

For the AA girls, Bloomington is seeded 10th, NCHS 13th and Normal West 15th.

In the A girls division, Central Catholic is seeded 10th, CPCI 11th, U High 12th and Olympia 15th.
