CISSNA PARK -- A 16-year-old Cissna Park resident was killed and two other people injured Thursday morning when the teen's vehicle slid into the path of a truck.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup pronounced Andrew W. Kaeb dead at 9:25 a.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

District 21 State Police at Ashkum said Kaeb was eastbound on Iroquois County Road 200 North when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Illinois 49 because of ice on the roadway. A truck driven by Jason W. Honeycutt, 35, Cissna Park, struck the teen's car.

The accident occurred about 7:55 a.m. about three miles south of Cissna Park.

Honeycutt and a passenger in Kaeb's vehicle, Aaron Kaeb, 14, also of Cissna Park, were taken by ambulance to Carle. A hospital spokeswoman said they were treated and released.

Cissna Park Fire and Ambulance and Pro Ambulance also responded.

The death prompted the postponement of extracurricular activities at Cissna Park High School, including Thursday's Cissna Park/Crescent-Iroquois' girls basketball games at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School.
