Roy Joseph Reeves

CLINTON -- Roy Joseph Reeves, 88, Clinton, died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 14, 2005) at Hawthorne Inn, Clinton.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with military honors. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Clinton.

He was born July 7, 1917, at Clinton, to Roy and Nellie Rench Reeves. He married Harriett D. Arnold on April 20, 1941, at Oxford, Ind. Harriett passed away on Feb. 14, 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Sidney Beck, Chula Vista, Calif., and Mary Kay (Chuck) Moore, Clinton; three grandchildren, Tony Moore, Geneva; Jenny Thayer, Clinton; and Chris Vail, Utah; and three great-grandchildren, Zack and Avery Moore; and Blake Thayer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon and Don Reeves, and one sister, Anita Burgess.

He was a member of First Christian Church, Clinton.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a city mail carrier in Clinton for 34 years.
