Eureka College women win

EUREKA -- Brittany Gardner scored 16 points and passed out six assists as the Eureka College women's basketball team defeated Alerno College 71-45 at the Reagan Center on Thursday night.
Three other players scored in double figures for the Red Devils (7-2) with sophomore Nicole Fisher scoring 15, senior Sarah Deakin 12 and junior Mandi Sistek adding 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Eureka College led 33-22 at halftime before outscoring Alerno (2-9) 38-23 in the second half.
The Eureka College defense held Alerno to 30 percent shooting from the field while forcing 21 turnovers and registering 16 steals.
