IWU's Dye hurt in win over Neb. Wesleyan
Pantagraph staff LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team turned in a strong and balanced offensive performance in beating Nebraska Wesleyan Sunday, but the victory came with a cost. Amanda Glerum and Heidi Harnisch scored 14 points apiece as the Titans placed four players in double figures in their 73-60 nonconference win. However, Crystal Dye had to leave the game with a knee injury that may keep her out for an extended period of time. The extent of Dye's injury is unknown. Titans coach Mia Smith said Dye will undergo tests today, including a possible MRI. Mallory Heydorn added 12 points and Katie Blonn contributed off the bench with 10 as the Titans improved to 7-2. "We had some balanced scoring. I think it was a good game for us to play right after finals," said Smith. "We've had a good road trip with the exception of Crystal's injury. Sarah Henning scored a game-high 17 points and Devan Aschtgen added 16 for Nebraska Wesleyan, which fell to 2-6. "We're going to need to step up our defense," said Smith. "But we shot the ball very well and I was impressed with the way we moved the ball. We had several big baskets. We just did well offensively."
