BLOOMINGTON -- Pearl Lee Johnson, 76, of 1409 W. Mulberry St., Bloomington, died Friday (Dec. 16, 2005) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington.–The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Union Missionary Baptist Church with a visitation an hour prior. Dr. Phensues Bush will officiate.–Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to The Home Sweet Home Mission in her memory.

Pearl was born April 12, 1929, in Mount Rose, Ark., the daughter of Luther Wilford and Georgia Butler-Wilford. She married James Johnson on June 2, 1946, in Frenchman's Bayou, Ark.

Pearl is survived by her husband, James Johnson, Bloomington; four daughters, Emma Edwards, Calumet City; Bobbie Lee Johnson, Bloomington; Josephine (Francies) Sargent, Peoria; and Leatha (Jeffrey) Martin, Shelbyville, Ind.; six sons, James H. (Daisy) Johnson, John E. Johnson, Donald (Lisa) Johnson and Kenneth (Carolyn) Johnson, all of Bloomington; Sylvester Johnson, Normal; and Michael (Calenda) Johnson, Garfield Heights, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She worked as a cook for Illinois Wesleyan University for many years.–
