Police look for copper wire thief

LINCOLN - Lincoln police are continuing their investigation into the recurring theft of copper wire from the Robert's Sysco Food Service Inc. construction site in Lincoln.

n;The weekend burglary of $50,000 in wire from the site is the second time since November the Roy Keith Electrical Co. has been hit as it provides materials for the new facility on the west side of town. Last month, burglars made off with several spools of wire valued at more than $48,000, according to police reports.

n;Evidence collected by Lincoln police at the scene indicated that suspects used two vehicles or a truck and trailer to remove the copper wire spools.

n;The construction project for Robert's Sysco will include a distribution center for the major food service company. The $14 million center is expected to be complete early next year.
