Springfield Lanphier 40, Lincoln 20
Springfield Lanphier High School took a 23-6 halftime lead and went on to a 40-20 victory over Lincoln Friday night in Central State Eight Conference football action at Lincoln.
Quarterback Jacob Harnacke threw for 81 yards and touchdown for Lincoln (1-7, 1-6), but it wasn’t enough to keep Lanphier from improving to 4-4 and 3-4.
Lincoln got on the board before the half on a 5-yard pass from Harnacke to Wes Sparks to make the score 23-6 at halftime.
The Railsplitters pulled within 23-13 in the third quarter on a 15-yard run by Fred Dorsey. Andrew Stephenson scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring for Lincoln.
Dorsey ran for 64 yards and Stephenson had 63.
Monticello 21, Clinton 6
Clinton running back John Smith caught a 21-yard touchdown pass and rushed for 48 yards as the Maroons fell to Monticello in an Okaw Valley Conference game at Monticello.
The Sages (5-3, 5-3) grabbed an early 14-0 lead on two Kyle Dooley touchdown runs. Smith’s scoring catch cut Monticello’s lead to 14-7 at halftime, but the Maroons (2-6, 2-6) could not get any closer.
Clinton quarterback Colin Duling passed for 75 yards and one touchdown. Receiver Bo Kinder led the Maroons with 33 yards off four catches.
Geneseo 27, Streator 0
Streator was hurt by three turnovers as Geneseo captured the North Central Conference Reagan Division title with a victory over the Bulldogs at Geneseo.
The Maple Leafs (8-0, 5-0) scored 13 points in the first half, and opened the third quarter with a touchdown drive that spanned nearly 10 minutes.
Streator is 1-7 and 1-4 in league play.
Plano 47, Dwight 0
Dwight linebacker James Nakashima tallied a team-high 11 tackles but the Trojans were upended by Plano in an Interstate Eight Conference game at Dwight.
Colton Tambling and Jake Scheuer each had seven tackles and an interception for Dwight (4-4, 3-2). Dan Thompson recorded five tackles along with a sack. The Reapers scored four times in the first half and led 19-0 at halftime. They added three more touchdowns in the second half.
Plano (8-0, 5-0) has already wrapped up the conference title.
