Governor not worried about investigators

CHICAGO -- Gov. Rod Blagojevich said Sunday he is not worried about what Antoin “Tony’’ Rezko could tell investigators if he decides to cooperate with federal authorities.

Rezko, a close ally and fundraiser for Blagojevich, was charged on Oct. 11 for alleged shakedowns for campaign contributions.

Some of the charges accuse Rezko of seeking millions of dollars in kickbacks from investment firms seeking state business.

The governor was asked by reporters if the allegations surrounding Rezko stem from conduct the Wilmette businessman pursued on his own.

“Correct,’’ Blagojevich replied.

" may not be outwardly worried but I'll bet away from the cameras and his adoring public, he's REAL concerned the word "indicted" will be used in the same sentence as his name. "
