ISU seventh of twelve at golf tournament

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Illinois State senior Matt Miller shot a 1-under-par 71 and followed with a 75 to earn a tie for 13th at 146 in the Oral Roberts University Invitational golf tournament Monday. His team is seventh in the 12-team field at 302-297-599.
The host school is leading heading into today’s final round after shooting 291-293-584. The individual co-leaders at 142 are Central Oklahoma’s Colby Shrum and Missouri-Kansas City’s Alex Hogben.
ISU’s Ben Murphy is tied for 20th at 79-71-150. Teammate Joe Emerich is tied for 23rd at 76-75-151. Rounding out the Redbird scorers is Tommy Bliefnick, who is tied for 28th at 76-76-152.
“Overall, I saw a lot of positives today,” said ISU coach Ray Kralis. “I am very optimistic heading into tomorrow.”
