Baseball
-- Lucas Folkerts fired a complete-game two-hitter, striking out nine, as host Flanagan posted a season-opening 3-0 win over Gardner. Folkerts also drilled a sixth-inning two-run homer.
-- Cody Hillier drove in four runs with three singles to lead a 13-hit attack as Pontiac downed host Dwight, 13-3, in six innings. Nathan Fosdick chipped in with three hits.
-- Louie Groce tripled, doubled and drove in three runs to power Prairie Central past host Metamora, 10-1, in a game called after six innings because of lighting.
-- Bo Kinder threw a no-hitter and struck out 10 as Clinton downed Ridgeview 7-0.
Softball
-- Kristin Corcoran threw a complete-game three-hitter, striking out seven, as Streator blanked host Seneca 6-0.
-- Bethany Edwards held Fieldcrest to one hit and struck out eight to pick up her third win of the season as host Eureka chalked up a 2-0 win over the Knights.
-- Hailley Hanning had four hits and drove in five runs to power host Olympia to a 13-3 six-inning win over East Peoria. Courtney Martin had three hits. including a triple, as the Spartans pounded out 11 hits.
