Do we want governor in capital every day?

In the Pantagraph Aug. 1 there was an article that took my breath away. Apparently a state lawmaker from Forsyth, Bill Mitchell, introduced a constitutional amendment. This amendment would require the current governor to be in Springfield ``every day'' the state Legislature is in session.

Mitchell should think about that. Do we really want that to happen?

If he is there every day, he might actually try to govern. If that happens, there is nothing known to man that can save us.

" we need to take a vote on it. But didn't we already? He was reelected. Someone must not care where he does or doesn't govern or where he does or doesn't live as long as he is a Chicago Democrat that is fine with them. That seems to be the only requirement some look for. The big D is front of their name. Sad isn't it? Especially for the good of the people. I guess it should be DN for DoNothing Party. I guess they do one thing. Criticize the GOP. Can you name one thing they have done other than that? "

" If Rod is in Springfield he may spend money there instead of some Chicago beauty shoppe. He may even rehire some workers let go when the government was moved to Chicago. That would help the economies of Springfield and every town between the real capital and the legal capital. "

" this letter gave me my laugh for the day and I can't help but agree whole heartedly. Besides he is to busy getting his hair and make up done. He's a pretty boy, so don't make him work and interrupt his beauty sessions by working. "
