Dawgs hound Kankakee
By Pantagraph staff
The Twin City Dawgs football team converted two third-quarter turnovers into touchdowns en route to a 26-8 win over the host Kankakee Seminoles in Great Midwest Football League action Saturday night at Dwight Stadium in Kankakee.
A Derrick Overton 7-yard interception return and a 14-yard fumble return by Calvin Jones sandwiched a 3-yard touchdown run by Ron Childs as the Dawgs (7-1) put up 20 points in the third period to break a scoreless tie.
Bradon Burke’s 18-yard scamper closed out the scoring for Twin City. The Dawgs’ defense held the Seminoles (3-4) to a meaningless touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
