West finishes 4th at Peoria ND golf tournament

Normal West High School’s Ross Leary fired a 75 to claim fifth place individually in the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational at Kellogg Golf Course on Monday. The Wildcats finished in fourth place in the 12-team event with 309 points. Rock Island Alleman won the event with a 291, seven shots ahead of Peoria Notre Dame (second) and 15 shots in front of Quincy Notre Dame (third). Mahomet-Seymour (325), Streator (332) and Pontiac (333) finished seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
West’s Dave Shelton finished in a tie for 11th place with a 76, while Pontiac’s Kyle Masching carded a 78. QND’s Scott Niemann finished as medalist after firing a three-under-par 69.
