Redbird football players glad that two-a-days are over
NORMAL -- A muggy evening marked the end of two-a-day practices for the Redbirds. The team will work out under the lights Thursday and Friday nights before a 7 p.m. public scrimmage on Saturday at Hancock Stadium.
“I’m sitting here at 10 o’clock at night and I’m sweating. This is like Mississippi heat with this humidity,” Johnson said. “In the past, we’ve had a few days where it was pretty hot here and there. But this is the worst stretch of it since I’ve been here.
"The guys have held up pretty good, but it’s taken its toll. There is some heat fatigue in these guys.”
