Tri-Valley golf sweeps Ridgeview tourney

SAYBROOK -- The Tri-Valley High School boys and girls golf teams swept the titles in the Ridgeview Tournament at Indian Springs Golf Club on Wednesday. The individual champions were Jake Lewis of Tri-Valley with a 9-over-par 81 and Kristine Palmer of Tri-Valley with an 8-over 44.
The Tri-Valley boys shot 349 to top a seven-team field. Ridgeview and Dwight tied for second (356) followed by Heyworth (381), Lexington (393), Blue Ridge (401) and GCMS (405).
Lewis won by two strokes over Aaron Coile of Ridgeview and Willy Willner of Champaign Judah Christian. Palmer’s six-stroke victory over second-place teammate Claire Chrisman helped the Vikings top Ridgeview in the two-team girls division, 214-244.
