Chiefs knock off Rattlers

The Peoria Chiefs held off a late rally by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to earn an 8-7 Midwest League victory at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis., on Monday. The Chiefs (31-25) scored four runs in the second and two in the fourth to build a 7-1 lead before Wisconsin cut the lead to 7-5, but Jayson Ruhlman preserved the win by recording the final three outs to earn his sixth save.
Wellington Castillo blasted a home run and finished with two RBI, while Jim Adduci also drove in two runs. Marco Carrillo (6-5) picked up the victory, allowing four earned runs in six innings with five walks and three strikeouts.
