Woman sentenced for aiding robbers

BLOOMINGTON — A Bloomington woman was sentenced to six years in prison for her role in an armed robbery of a convenience store in 2004.

Dorothy Tucker, 28, was convicted in June of assisting four men with the armed robbery of the former Max convenience store on West Market Street in Bloomington. Prosecutors told a jury that Tucker, who was assistant manager of what is now known as Circle K, put store receipts in an ATM in the store shortly before the robbery.

The robbers, who also have been convicted, netted about $8,000 in the theft.

Tucker also was sentenced to an eight-year concurrent term on drug possession charges.

Carjacking — A 15-year-old boy who initially was charged as a juvenile in a June 17 carjacking now faces charges as an adult.

Kendall C. Morgan of Harvey was charged Thursday with the felonies of armed violence and armed robbery. His charges now match those of Carl A. Anderson of the 400 block of North Mason Street in Bloomington, who was charged as an adult in the days after the incident.

The two boys now face identical charges, and each must post $25,000 to be released.

Assistant State’s Attorney Karle Koritz said in court the two boys, one of whom had a handgun, approached a woman in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Bloomington and demanded her purse and the keys to her minivan. They fled in her minivan and crashed, and police located Anderson a short distance from the crash site, he said.

Authorities have said the woman’s vehicle was found nearby at Turnberry Village Apartments.

Trespass to residence — Glenn Simmons, 43, was fined $300 and court costs for trespass to a residence on June 12.

Simmons, of the 2400 block of East Washington Street, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Wednesday for the offense.

Trespass to residence — A 25-year-old Bloomington man was fined $200 for trespassing on a residence.

Michael R. Kudrys of Oak Park Road committed the offense on March 17 in Bloomington.

Cocaine — A Matteson man faces charges of unlawful possession of cocaine following his arrest Tuesday.

Malawchee A. Gray, 21, must post $3,000 to be released on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The alleged offense occurred Tuesday in Bloomington.

Revoked license — William J. Carter was in court Wednesday on charges that he was driving with a revoked driver’s license after a previous conviction for the same offense.

Carter, 19, of the 800 block of East Empire Street, Bloomington, was held in lieu of $500 bond.

Cocaine — A Lexington man was held on $3,000 bond for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

Joshua Pytlewski, 18, is accused of delivering cocaine to confidential police source on Oct. 2 in Lexington.

Heroin — Marcus Rogers, 37, of the 300 block of Riley Drive, Bloomington, is accused of selling heroin to a confidential police source.

According to two counts filed in court, police purchased drugs twice from Rogers on Aug. 11. He was held in lieu of $10,000.

Clinton girl’s death deemed a homicide

PEORIA — A Peoria coroner’s jury ruled the early June death of a 10-month-old Clinton girl was a homicide.

Ava M. Bowhay died in a Peoria hospital two days after authorities say she was beaten by Rick Heuermann, 21, who is charged with murder and awaiting trial in her death. Information from the coroner’s office indicates the girl suffered head injuries from multiple blunt-force trauma on June 1.

Van fire — A van parked along a Bloomington street burned early Thursday, and the city’s deputy fire chief said it appears the fire was intentionally set.

Deputy Chief David Adelsberger said firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which was reported about 2:35 a.m. in the 300 block of West Graham Street. Bloomington police spokesman Duane Moss said police reports show the van was engulfed in fire when officers arrived.

Adelsberger declined to give further details on the fire, citing a pending investigation. There was no damage to other property in the incident.

" Make subscriptions go up. It is possible. Just add value, train an employee you're already paying, if folks are willing to pay $300/yr for the credit bulletin then you should react to that message, mortages, deeds, judgements and whatall. But also, should the public need to try to access the recorder's office, why could you not present a convenient portal? Are you not a business? With a mission? Information source?I just think you are missing the boat or skipping it since you avoid depth. "
