Fisher edges LeRoy late

Colten Unzicker ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 1:06 left, as Fisher opened its season with a Heart of Illinois Conference victory over LeRoy on Friday night at LeRoy.
Fisher took a 13-0 halftime lead on a 1-yard touchdown run by Unzicker and a 52-yard scoring romp by Dylan Reynolds. Craig Noe brought LeRoy to within 13-6 by returning the second-half kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. The Panthers knotted the score at 13-13 on a 1-yard plunge by Payton Tucker in the final period.
Unzicker capped the game-winning drive with a one-yard plunge, and LeRoy was unable to mount a threat in the final minute.
Jason Byro paced LeRoy in rushing with 61 yards on 12 carries.
