Cerro Gordo blanks Blue Ridge

In its season opener Blue Ridge High School’s football team was unable to keep Cerro Gordo from making the big play, falling 30-0 in its season opener Friday night at Farmer City.

Cerro Gordo scored on three pass plays of more than 20 yards as quarterback Nathan Lawler completed touchdown passes to Gavin McCoy (34 yards), Bryce Ramay (40 yards) and Jared Bolt (20 yards).
