CLINTON -- A water conservation order was canceled Monday after the city’s water plant was restored to full operating capacity.

Clinton Mayor Ed Wollet said residents could end their efforts to limit water usage.

“We appreciate everyone’s assistance in this situation,” said the mayor.

The water conservation plan was imposed last week after the plant’s computer system was damaged by a lightning strike.

Plant workers will continue to operate the plant manually until repairs are complete on damaged equipment, said the mayor.

" I suppose the rates will raise again to fix this, maybe this is why the softening system quit working "
