West edges CCHS in its intercity boys soccer opener

Central Catholic High School grabbed an early 3-1 lead, but visiting Normal West scored the final four goals to win its Intercity Tournament opener on Monday at Bloomington.

Mark Backsmeier, Nick Cellini, Austin Eichelberger, Jose Gonzalez and Tyler DeGroot each finished with goals for the Wildcats (1-1), who scored the only two second-half goals.

Kendall Cox, Andrew Tank and Patrick Kniery each had a goal for Central Catholic.
