Thousands stolen from deposit box

NORMAL —- Several businesses reported cash totaling more than $6,000 and checks totaling about $2,100 stolen from a bank deposit box, a Normal police report said.

The burglary was between 10 p.m. Aug. 25 and 9 a.m. Aug. 27 at National City Bank, 2001 Shepard Road, Normal, police said.

Those businesses with money deposits stolen included Motel 6, of 1610 N. Main St., Goodwill Industries, 401 Greenbriar Drive, and Burger King, 1617 N. Main St., all in Normal.
