" This is nothing less than sexual battery on a minor! If someone other than a "guard" did this it would be recognized as such, because it's demeaning, harmful and constitutes a sexual assault. These sadistic individual should not only be fired, but charged with assaulting these children. Please note that when similar things were done at Abu Ghraib, it was an international scandal. The Abu Ghraib jailers must have gotten their training at the Ohio facility that just showed these kids how indecent the court and associated officials can be. Charge the "guards" with indecent assault!!!! "

" in college, one of my classes went to visit Pontiac's maximum security prison. We were up close and person w/inmates, and we were certainly NOT strip-searched. Yes, a female patted down the females, and males patted down the males, and we went through metal detectors... but that's it. If this is true, it's absolutely unacceptable. "

" A. THese girls were ordered to go to this Juive Hall. Apparently it was to scare them straight? B. and to Whoa....had the parents said something beforehand... none of this would have been necessary. C. No one gets their jollies off for doing their job... do you? D. RIDICULOUS...not hardly. " If these young ladies wer complicit in a crime and theie lawers entered into an agreement with the court system to tour the Juvinile Attention Center as part or all of their punishment. Would the Judge have intended for the girls to tour the center as if they were on a field trip to a museum? They were sent their to view and see first hand what could happen to them if they continue with their wayward actions, I doubt any judge is going to sentence "innocent bystanders" to 20 hours of community service. The entire story is not being told about these girls activities in this article. They will lose in court and that will be the end of it. "

" I've toured doc facilities before, as have numerous high school/college students, and not once was I subjected to a search of ANY kind. "

" It would have been enough to inform the girls they would ordinarily be strip-searched instead of insisting they actually go through the process. This should result in disciplinary action for those who ordered the search. Perhaps the officials who were responsible should be required to strip in front of the inmates at the jail. "

" This is not rediculous at all if infact it happened. The girls were being taught what happens whe a kid goes there right, that is what happens. The only way this would be wrong is if it was a male that did the search. Thery should be thankful there wasn't a cavity search as well. "

" These girls were sent to the juvie center as a way to deter them from future crimes. THEIR LAWYERS claimed they were bystanders in the fight. OJ's lawyer claimed he was innocent (point is don't always believe the lawyers.) Secondly ANYONE entering into a DOC building gets searched, same as they were searched when first arrested, and their are only female guards present during these searches, THIRDLY these "tours" show what a DOC building is like, INCLUDING areas where contraband is not allowed (areas with inmates). The way the story was written was to increase sensationalism, not present true facts. So please calm down before we start screaming. "

" that would be the optimum question - did they get strip searched because they were going into the area that required it or did the guards just get their jollies? Common sense would dictate that there was no reason to put these girls into an area that would put them in that type of element. My vote - the guards got their jollies. And besides they were bystanders of a fight - hell, there were 20-25 bystanders on Sat. nite and I don't know that any of them got arrested. "

" Even if this was SOP for anyone touring the jail for this purpose, if that were my MINOR daughter, I would have something to say about it! Wouldn't there have to be some consent on the part of the parents, especially since this was perpetrated as a "tour?" "

" They broke the law and got a slap on the wrist and just had to 'tour' the juvenile detention center. If they were going to tour sections where there were actual 'inmates' then I don't see an issue with the searches since the center had to prevent the girls from bringing in any contraband or weapons that they could hand off to someone inside the prison...Not that I have ever been to prison but I have relations who work in the local prisons and they say that only women are present for a female stripsearch so not like someone got their jollies off!!!! Plus this is probably exactly what the judge had in mind to scare these thug girls straight!!!!! He could have sent them there to stay so they should just shut up and take the free ride that they got!!!!!! "
