" We have hoards of trauma councilors descending on a nearby school like seagulls at a garbage dump because someone brought weapons to that school. They were observed by ONE person, and were not used to threaten anybody. In fact, if I read the articles correctly, they were not even handled. But, you imply that victims of sexual assault are more traumatized than someone looking down the business end of a gun during an armed robbery. I don't care how much "training" you get in dealing with a robbery, looking down that dark hole can cause one's bowels to loosen and their sphincter to relax involuntarily. The fact that you trivialized the victim of the armed robberies ordeal and reduced it market inventory is not only insulting, it shows your lack of understanding of reality. "

" Ok, so if I read this article and comments correctly this guy committed ARMED robbery. Brandishing a firearm implies a direct threat that if his wishes are not complied with, the result would be someones death. This repeat offender threatened to take someones life for financial enrichment and got 22 years. And people here are complaining? You complain about the high crime rate, but when a conviced criminal is taken off the street you scream "too harsh" and "race". I know what the offenders priorities are. What are yours? "

" 12 years in prison for "predatory criminal sexual assault of three minors in 2005" and a bunch of other charges dropped in a plea agreement: And you wouldn't call this guy a repeat offender? This article doesn't mention anyone being physically assaulted or injured during the grocery store robbery. How many unsuspecting, helpless minors were sexually violated during this robbery? Any adults injured? A bloody nose? Anything? A store clerk lives with the knowledge that he may someday be robbed and most are trained in how they should react to reduce the threat of physical harm. The victims of sexual offenders are victims in every way and they deserve some kind of justice that makes them feel a little more important than a couple of cartons of cigarettes and the contents of a cash register drawer (or whatever goods, if any, were actually taken.) These girls are human beings, not grocery store inventory. "

" You folks complaining about the differences in convictions................this is nothing new. Heck I remember when child molestation was kept in the dark and murder would get you 6 yrs and you would be out in 3. Robbers got a slap on the hand, pot was legal, then illegal, if you got caught with one joint you went to jail for 20 yrs. out in 10yrs. The harshest conviction of all was Ole Lady McHenry.......you mess with her flowers and you were in the doghouse for the rest of your life! "

" Because his information is already posted on the IDOC inmate search web site. Anyone can view a picture of this fellow. Additionally, I remember this character from when I had worked corrections at the county jail. Real piece of work. Repeat offender, multiple times. That's what got him the present 22 year sentence. He was discharged already four times, and that incarceration didn't seem to do him any good. "

" How do you know that this person is a "minority" individual? are you personally acquainted with him? Also, before implying an unfair sentence, you need to state more of the facts, especially if the accused has a previous criminal record, his attitude at trial, etc. "

" you can molest children in McLean County by the folds and get a couple of years in prison, but don't you dare be a minority and rob a store, you will not see the light of day for many many years. "
