Farmhouse north of Colfax destroyed by fire
COLFAX — Fire destroyed what appeared to be an unoccupied farmhouse Thursday north of Colfax.
Firefighters were called about 5:15 p.m. to 3275 E. 2300 North Road, said Colfax Assistant Fire Chief Randy Clark. The house was engulfed in flames when the arrived he said.
The fire was out by 6:45 p.m., and all that remained was a charred wood frame, he said.
The home appeared to be abandoned, and firefighters don’t think anyone was inside at the time of the fire, Clark said.
McLean County fire investigators were called to the scene to look for a cause.
About 25 firefighters from Anchor, Cooksville Cropsey and Lexington and helped at the scene, and firefighters from Arrowsmith stood by at the Colfax fire station.
