15 years ago (1992): Kevin Weaver of Gibson City started in fourth position and moved up on the high side to win the 50-lap late model UMP feature during championship night racing at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway. Weaver earned $1,500 for his fifth feature win of the season.
25 years ago (1982): Bloomington’s Hearts lost an 11-inning duel with Rushville Wells Fargo, 3-2, on an inside-the-park home run to fall into the loser’s bracket of the ASA Class AA State Fast Pitch Tournament at O’Neil Park. The Hearts kept their hopes alive by beating Alton Sports Page, 5-0.
