" Dear Rush Is Right: A "gas guzzling" SUV gets around the same MPG as a full sized Van since they both use about the same sized engine (V-8) and the "mini van" isn't much better on fuel consumption, just less demonized by the eco, granola, tree hugging nut jobs. Although it has not been identified by this media source which vehicle had the better fuel economy, I feel it is safe to assume that it wasn't a contributing factor. "

" are you seeing a different version of this page than the rest of us? it says and SUV and a van got in a wreck... where do the other "gas-guzzling" propaganda words come from? its a vehicle description, not a slur. "

" I mistakenly made the assumption that you all have noticed that seldom in reading a story about an accident is it mentioned what type of vehicles were involved. Sure, it will be mentioned that it was a pick-up, a semi, a tractor, etc. But when it comes to vehicles that are designed to carry more than 3 passengers rarely is the vehicle type mentioned UNLESS it happens to be an evil "gas-guzzler" such as a SUV and as in this case a van. Search the archives....you will seldom see the vehicles involved were a Chrysler 4-door, a Chevrolet Coupe, a Ford Escort, etc. etc. You all have just illustrated my point.......you absorb the liberal propoganda and move on without a second thought! Exactly the way mind control is designed to work. "

" Spoken like a true liberal. You could learn something by listening to RUSH, but most libs are scared of the truth. Oh Yeah and I drive an SUV too. "

" hey brilliant one, they mentioned the other vehicle was a van. You know, another one of those evil machines that the media must despise or maybe they do it just to anger your miniature mind. "

The fact... wrote on Aug 31, 2007 4:59 PM:

" ...that the heading on your comment is "Rush is Right" should have told me what I was about to read was right-wing drivel. The fact that an SUV was involved in a crash is not a stretch. Have you looked at the roadways these days? Every other vehicle is an SUV. The odds of one being involved in a crash are pretty high. Duh..."Rush." "

Re: Rush Is Right wrote on Aug 31, 2007 4:48 PM:

" Did you just read what you just said? All they said was a SUV and a van collided. I think we call that reporting the news. Do you think they made up the SUV to further their "evil agenga"? What a moron, stick to your Rush show where you idiots can all be happy together living in your fairytale world. "

" It's called an SUV. That's the class of vehicle. I wasted one minute of my life I will never get back by reading your nonsensical comments. "

Rush Is Right wrote on Aug 31, 2007 4:26 PM:

" Another fine example of the liberal media advancing the liberal agenda that SUV's are evil and the root cause of this event. When I start seeing news reports that the vehicles involved were mid size 4-door sedans, etc. I will cease my rant. This is nothing more than liberal propaganda attempting to demonize a style of vehicle they deem evil. You see they want to plant the seed in our infertile minds that but for the SUV.....this accident would never have happened. Pantagraph....stick to reporting the news and cease your politics please....it is totally inappropriate. "
