If Craig really did nothing to warrant being charged in this case, then why did he plead guilty? And if he was too stupid to know what pleading guilty meant, why was he ever voted in as a senator? Does that mean all the people who voted for him were stupid as well? I don't believe that. I don't care if someone is gay, but don't try to cover it up if you are by lying. When the going gets rough the Republicans bow out. That is not standing up for what you believe and it cheapens the Republican party. This senator did absolutely nothing to resign for. Look what is sitting on the true hypocrit (formerly Democrat) side. This is far less even if he admits to what he was accused of. I am tired of the Republicans pandering for votes by stepping down. BUT, hypocrisy IS... telling the American gay community who voted for you that you will see to liberalizing laws for gays. They need a little more backbone I'd say. Also there are plenty of Dems doing things that Rep. would have caused Reps to resign.
