BLOOMINGTON -- Mid Central Community Action, located for decades on East Grove Street, has moved to a new location that should be more convenient for clients and staff.

There will be more room for programming and parking at its new quarters at 1301 W. Washington St., said Executive Director John Burrill.

The agency bought the building, known to many as the Funk Seed Building, for $350,000, Burrill said.

“We needed more space to deliver our programs,” he said, mentioning domestic violence, energy assistance and housing development.

The agency opened at the new location this week and Burrill said clients seem to be finding the new location without problems. Signs at the old location direct clients to the new building.

The old location, Burrill said, was sold to an adjacent concrete plant.

The building has an additional 3,000 square feet for programming and quadruple the number of parking spaces.

“This should be our home for the foreseeable future,” he said.

The telephone number, (309) 829-0691, remains the same.
