NORMAL -- A 34-year-old man suffered minor scrapes and bruises in a car-bicycle accident where Constitution Trail crosses Vernon Avenue, Normal.
The accident about 5:30 p.m. caused only minor traffic delays.
The bicyclist received a ticket charging him with failure to yield the right of way. The bicyclist was struck as he tried to cross Vernon, police said.
"The driver did an excellent job of braking," said Normal police officer Dave Lundington.
