Bloomington, Normal set trash, recycling plans for Labor Day

BLOOMINTON — Bloomington and Normal have set trash and recycling collection schedules for Labor Day.

In Bloomington, garbage and recyclable materials are collected as scheduled every business day of the year, with the exception of only two days: Labor Day and Christmas.

They will not be collected on Monday. Garbage and recyclable materials normally collected on Monday will be collected on Tuesday along with the regularly scheduled routes for collection on Tuesday. There will not be bulk pickup on Tuesday.

The drop-off facility at 402 S. East St. will be closed on Monday and will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

In Normal, garbage collection for the Labor Day holiday will be on Monday. Residents are asked to place their household garbage at the curb after 6 p.m. Sunday, and before 5 a.m. Monday. All other waste collection services (bulk waste, landscape waste and brush) will be collected the following day.

After Labor Day, crews will resume working winter hours, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
