Ridgeview hammers Blue Ridge

COLFAX -- Senior wingback David Givens sped for 181 yards and scored three touchdowns as Ridgeview (2-0, 2-0) remained unbeaten with a conference win, 43-8.
Givens, who carried the ball only 11 times, scored on runs of 60 and 30 yards and caught a 22-yard scoring pass from quarterback Derek Powell. The Mustangs, who led 24-8 at halftime and 36-8 after three quarters, generated 569 yards on offense, 500 of those coming on the ground.
Junior Matt Johnson added 142 yards rushing for Ridgeview, including a 51-yard TD run in the final period. Tim Vandegraft had scoring runs of 1 and 22 yards.
Senior quarterback Thomas Williams tallied the lone touchdown for Blue Ridge (0-2, 0-1) with a 39-yard run in the first quarter.
