Win keeps Chiefs in playoff hunt
By Pantagraph staff
The Peoria Chiefs stayed in contention for a Midwest League playoff berth Friday night with a 7-5 win over the Swing of the Quad Cities at John O'Donnell Stadium in Davenport, Iowa.
Peoria remains one game behind Cedar Rapids in the wild card race, and those two teams will square off this weekend in Peoria in a season-ending, three-game series.
The Chiefs got home runs from Ty Wright and Blake Lalli to mount an early 5-0 lead.
