Steidinger wins at Fairbury after Hedrick hits wall

FAIRBURY -- Racing side-by-side, Fairbury’s Wes Steidinger and Richie Hedrick of Champaign battled for the lead in the late model feature on Saturday night at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway. On the 18th lap, however, Hedrick slammed into the wall on turn four, ending his night and allowing Steidinger to claim the victory.
Bloomington’s Frank Shickel, Jr. finished second and was followed by Joe Harlan (El Paso), Daren Friedman (Forrest) and Eric Smith (Shirley). Other feature winners were Gardner’s David Porth (modified) and El Paso’s Jason Unzicker (sportsman).
