Nick Wiese scored with two minutes left to lead Bloomington High School’s soccer team to a 1-0 win over visiting Big 12 Conference rival Danville Thursday.

BHS was awarded a free kick late in the game, which goalkeeper Shailer Thomas took and received an assist for setting up Wiese’s winning shot.

Thomas made 10 saves for BHS (3-3-1, 2-0).

Central wins shutout

Difficult weather conditions and Champaign St. Thomas More couldn’t stop visiting Central Catholic (5-2-1) from notching a 3-0 victory.

After a scoreless first half, Saint coach Patric Molinari altered his offensive approach and it paid off as Kendall Cox notched an unassisted goal nine minutes into second-half play.

Hayden Hoerdemann scored off an assist from Patrick Kniery. Andrew Tank ended the scoring with Andy Beoletto providing the assist.
