HUDSON -- Someone either backing a boat into or out of Lake Evergreen on Monday night ended up with both the vehicle and the boat in the water, McLean County sheriff’s police said.

One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution after the incident about 6:30 p.m. at Comlara Park, possibly because of stress, police said.

Hudson firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the scene.

" ...before you make stupid, thoughtless comments. My boyfriend was the person who went into the water to get this man out, and when he got home and told me about it, he was very upset. It seems the guy and his girlfriend were putting their boat in the lake. Apparently, the ramp is very mossy and his vehicle lost traction and went into the lake. He tried to exit the vehicle as it was going into the water, but the door shut on his leg. The guy also said he couldn't swim and that he had just had bypass surgery a few weeks ago. - so I guess you might call that some significant stress. "

" I says that they only took one person to the hospital because of stress. Not death. I am sure once it is all over with it will be something the family will sit around and laugh about. Quit trying to make everything so dramatic! "

" actually that happened to a family member. He lost footing pulling the boat out and ended up backing into the water. Happened a few years ago up north. "

" If my only reason for stress was the fact that I didn't know how to launch a boat would be a relief. It's only a vehicle, but I'm assuming that you have insurance. "

" sounds like someone wanted to do something about the engine size restrictions on evergreen and decided to take a shortcut. You have to watch what your doing when loading a boat, if not you could be the skipper of the S. S Ford 150 "
