Livingston Co. man dies after losing control of his truck

Wilfredo Pantoja, 42, of Cabery died Saturday night in a one-vehicle accident on Illinois 115 south of Kankakee, Illinois state police said.

Pantoja was driving his 2004 Ford F150 south of Kankakee County 7000 South Road at 11:58 p.m. when he lost control and drove into the left ditch, striking a guard rail and becoming airborne, the press release said.

The truck then hit a bridge abutment, overturned and caught fire. Pantoja was entrapped and was dead at the scene, state police said.

Agencies responding to the accident included Cabery Fire, Kempton Fire, Herscher Fire, Illinois State Police District 21 and Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department, the press release said.
