STREATOR - Frederick D. Churney, 85, of 1412 S. Vermillion St., Streator, died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 4, 2007) at Camelot Terrace Nursing Home in Streator.
Service: 9:30 a.m. Saturday Mass of Christian burial at St. Stephen's Church, Streator, with Monsignor John J. Prendergast officiating.
Burial: St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator, full military rites.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a vigil service at 5 p.m.
Memorials: in lieu of flowers, to American Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
Survivors: his wife, Joan Spraggon Churney, Streator; a daughter, Mary Kay Cavanaugh, Streator; sons, Frederick "Rick" (Eugenia) Churney Jr., Streator; Dan Churney, Ottawa; and David (Karen) Churney, Oregon, Ill.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and sisters, Marge Kettman and Mary Ann Bandura, both of Streator.
