Wayne K. Neuzel
GUTHRIE - Wayne Kenneth Neuzel of Mayfair Manor, Lexington, Ky., formerly of Chatsworth and Guthrie, died at 1:28 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 4, 2007) at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City, with the Rev. Ed Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Neuzel was born April 17, 1916, in Guthrie, a son of Joseph and Lillian Joos Neuzel. He married Esther Mae Jardine on June 12, 1937, in Gibson City. She died Dec. 18, 2005.
Surviving are a son, Larry W. (Leona Jo) Neuzel, Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Virginia Friese, Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Kristopher (Valerie) Neuzel, Robert (Jill) Neuzel and Lori (Graeme) Hart; and six great-grandchildren, all of Lexington, KY.
Mr. Neuzel was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad for 41 years.
He enjoyed playing bingo, watching his grandsons play baseball and painting pictures.
Memorial tributes may be made to the First Christian Church in Gibson City or to the Hospice of the Bluegrass in Lexington, Ky.
