Thunder add netminder
By Associated Press
BLOOMINGTON -- Loic Lacasse, who was a sixth-round selection by the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens in 2004, has signed a contract with the Bloomington PrairieThunder for the 2007-08 season.
The goaltender was assigned to Bloomington by the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate, Hamilton.
Lacasse joins Derek Dolson and two other netminders for the on-ice start of training camp Tuesday at the Pepsi Ice Center at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The 21-year-old Lacasse played 33 games with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League last season. He posted a 16-12-5 record along with a .891 save percentage and a 3.94 goals-against-average.
“(Lacasse) was placed in our organization, so he could get more experience and have the opportunity to get back up to the next level,” Booth said.
The Thunder plays its first exhibition games Wednesday at Fort Wayne and Saturday in Muskegon. Both games start at 6:30 p.m.
