ISU mens golf's Bliefnick matches ISU course record

Sophomore Tommy Bliefnick, matched the course record set Sunday by teammate Joe Emerich to earn a share of fourth place in the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate at the Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State.
Bliefnick, playing for the Illinois State White team, and medalist Chris DeForest of team champion Illinois both toured the 6681-yard par-71 layout in 8-under-par 63’s. With the record-matching effort, Bliefnick posted a three-round total of 2-under-par 211 to move up from 32nd place. DeForest rocketed from 24th spot to take top honors with a 4-under-par 209 total.
Second round leader Emerich struggled to a 6-over-par 77 and a even-par three-round total of 213 to finish in a tie for 10th place. The Redbirds carded a 288-862 to hold their first day position and finish third in the team competition. Illinois blistered a final round of 12-under-par 272 for an 837 total and a 17-stroke win over runner-up Southern Illinois (282-854).
The Illinois State White team finished ninth by with a final day score of 300 and scored 893 overall.
