Daily Digest for October 9, 2007: Trivia night to aid ISU, kids’ museum NORMAL — The Children’s Discovery Museum and Illinois State University’s Milner Library are teaming up for a “Mind Bending Trivia Night” fundraiser to benefit both organizations. Teams of six to eight people will compete in four rounds of trivia questions beginning at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at Milner Library. There will be prizes, a silent auction, a snack and a cash bar. Participants can form their own team or individuals can sign up and be placed with others to form a team. Cost is $125 per team or $25 per individuals. Registration deadline is Oct. 26. Man, 22, charged with armed robbery PONTIAC — A Pontiac man has been charged with armed robbery after he allegedly robbed a store clerk at knifepoint. Christopher D. Keever, 22, of Pontiac, was arrested Saturday. Police were called Saturday afternoon to P&P Aquarist and Pet, 830½ E. Livingston St. A clerk recognized the robber, who left the scene. Keever is in Livingston County Jail in lieu of posting a $5,000 bond. Setting it right Local Eureka — The law permits residential customers to seek alternate suppliers for their electrical service. A story in Sunday’s Pantagraph about the City of Eureka was incorrect. While the law allows competition, no alternative suppliers have offered the service to residential customers. |
