Anderson award deadline Monday
BLOOMINGTON — The Jean Anderson Awards banquet will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Lancaster’s Fine Dining, 513 N. Main St.
The award recognizes and honors individuals who significantly contribute to the revitalization of downtown Bloomington.
Nominations can be submitted to info@downtownbloomington.org or by fax to (309) 829-9925. Deadline is Monday.
Libraries get grant for disaster prep
DEER CREEK — Deer Creek District Library has won a $4,000 grant called “Disaster Prep @ Your Library.”
The money will be used by the Deer Creek, Delavan, Minier, Mackinaw and Tremont libraries to inform their communities about safety issues and disaster preparedness.
Kids’ quilt show planned in Lincoln
LINCOLN — Main Street Lincoln invites children up to the age of 18 to show quilts Nov. 2 at Action Rentals and Sales on South Kickapoo Street.
Entry is free. To enter, call (217) 732-3464 or 735-2333 before Oct. 31. The show will run Nov. 2 through Dec. 15.
