Birkhofer claims Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury

FAIRBURY — Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, Iowa led wire-to-wire to claim the $10,000 top prize of the 18th annual Prairie Dirt Classic on Saturday night at Fairbury American Legion Speedway.

Following Birkhofer to the finish line were Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wisc., Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., Dennis Erb, Jr. of Carpentersville and Steve Sheppard, Jr. of New Berlin.

Other feature winners were McKay Wenger of Fairbury (modifieds) and Joe Funk of Dwight (street stock).
