Women can learn hockey at special event

BLOOMINGTON — Women have an opportunity to learn the basics of hockey and meet the players from the Bloomington PrairieThunder on Oct. 24 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The evening mixes food, drinks, prizes and the chance to learn a little about hockey.
The event begins with a social hour and hors d’oeuvres from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with admittance through the VIP entrance near the Pepsi Ice Center parking garage off Olive Street.
Tickets, which include two beverages and hors d’oeuvres, are being offered at a special price of $30 if purchased by Thursday. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Coliseum box office or online at www.pantagraph.com/hockey 101.
Sponsors for the event include the Pantagraph, The Shoppes at College Hills, Jimmy John’s, Fox & Hounds Day Spa, U.S. Cellular Coliseum and Bank of Illinois.
