Man sentenced in drug conspiracy

BLOOMINGTON — A 26-year-old Bloomington man was sentenced to 24 months of probation for conspiracy to possess a controlled substance.

Jay Roberts of the 3000 block of South Joseph Street pleaded guilty to the charge involving an incident in June 2006.

Dismissed against Roberts were charges of conspiracy to possess anhydrous ammonia with intent to manufacture methamphetamines and unlawful tampering with anhydrous ammonia equipment.

Roberts also was ordered to complete 30 hours of community service work and serve 14 days in jail.

He was given credit for 14 days served.
