U High grad Rule leads Heartland mens soccer past Springfield

University High graduate Josh Rule’s goal in the 40th minute enabled the Heartland Community College soccer team to escape with a 2-1 victory at Springfield College on Monday.
Rule was assisted by Matt Waltz. The Hawks (7-10-1) scored the opening goal in the 14th minute by Ben Howerton, but Springfield tied it in the 30th minute.
Heartland goalkeeper Jairon Crosson picked up the victory, finishing with four saves.
